Frequently Asked Question

- My password does not meet the minimum requirements
Last Updated 2 years ago

To protect your account and company data, it's crucial to follow a robust password policy.

1. Minimum Length and Complexity:

  • Length: Passwords must contain at least eight characters. Longer passwords are significantly stronger. Consider using a 12-14 character minimum length.
  • Complexity: Passwords must include characters from at least three of the following:
    • Uppercase letters (A-Z)
    • Lowercase letters (a-z)
    • Numbers (0-9)
    • Special symbols (!, $, #, %, etc.)

2. Avoiding User-Related Information

  • Passwords cannot include the user's account name (username) or any part of their full name longer than two consecutive characters. This reduces the risk of someone guessing your password using easily accessible information.

3. Enforcing Uniqueness

  • Passwords must be unique. You cannot reuse any of your old passwords. This prevents hackers from exploiting passwords you may have used on other less secure sites.

Additional Best Practices:

  • Change Passwords Regularly: Password changes happen every 90 days to further enhance security.
  • Avoid Common Words: Don't use dictionary words, birthdays, or simple patterns (e.g., "12345678") as these are easily compromised.

Why is a Strong Password Policy Important?

Weak passwords are a major cybersecurity vulnerability. Hackers use sophisticated tools and strategies to crack passwords to access sensitive data. A strong policy significantly reduces that risk.
